For Project Horizon, the holiday season begins with our annual Deck the Halls holiday fundraiser and gala. Held every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, this event provides an elegant dinner, with live music and dancing, and a silent auction. The real entertainment, however, is our live auction. Generous donations from local businesses and community members make Deck the Halls a wonderful evening. All funds raised are used locally to provide services for victims of domestic and sexual violence. To join the Deck the Halls Gala committee, contact our executive director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To compliment Deck the Halls, we offer Family Fun Time, a holiday event for the whole family. Held on the first Saturday in December, Family Fun Time features “Breakfast with Santa” at Central Elementary School. After a pancake breakfast, children and their parents are invited to create ornaments, decorate cookies, and have their picture made with Santa Claus!

Every October, Project Horizon recognizes a leader in the community for their work to end sexual and domestic violence. In 2016, Tom Sheets (owner of Blue Ridge Lumber) was awarded the Pam Simpson Peace Award for his generous support of our shelter, art therapy center and building expansion program.
Summer Day Camp
Each summer, Project Horizon offers a week-long day camp for child victims of domestic and sexual violence. The theme of our 2017 camp is "Building Character." We are thankful to the Brittigan Fund of First Presbyterian Church for their financial support of our camp. To learn more about camp opportunities (for attending or volunteering), contact our children's counselor, Katie Robinson, at 540.463.7861.
